Christmas Time is Here Again!

Well folks it’s that time of year again. The time for hustle and bustle of trying to get everything get done before the big day. Things that need to be done include shopping, cooking, wrapping gifts, decorating and generally wearing yourself to the bone. But is all this really necessary? I think that it all depends on what’s really important to you.

For example, what does Christmas really mean to you? Is it merely a time for family gatherings and exchanging gifts and a greetings? Or is it something more?

Perhaps it is time to reflect on what Christmas is really all about.

This phrase is overused, but Jesus really is the reason for the season.

Many people today have forgotten this simple truth, allowing commercialism and busyness take the place of God and His Son. Is there a solution to this situation?

I believe there is and it is so simple. All you need to do is make room for God in your life. Ask Him to walk with you in all that you do and to guide you on your path. If you do this, your Christmas will take on new meaning and you will experience the full joy of the season.

About faithfullyhis

My name is Charles Quail and I am a retired Baptist pastor who lives in Dunnville,a small town southeast of Hamilton, Ontario. I also write a weekly column for our local newspaper, The Sachem. It is a column that I have been writing for about eight years. I am married and have two grown daughters. My best buddy was my dog Max, who is now chasing bunny rabbits in sky. I miss him terribly. My reason for wanting to write a blog is friends have told me that this is the next logical step in my writing career. My hope and prayer is that many will be both challenged and blessed by what I write.
