We Shall Remember Them

This past week tragedy hit our country with the deaths of two soldiers who were killed in cowardly acts of violence. Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Corporal Nathan Cirillo died serving their country. They died doing what they both loved — being on duty and in uniform. While we mourn their needless deaths, we should also be proud of the service that they gave for us. There is an editorial cartoon that I believe says it all. It shows Corporal Cirillo being held in the arms of one of the figures of the War Memorial that has come down from the monument. The other figures are also leaning over to comfort Cirillo in his final moments of life. It is a brilliant piece of work and is very moving. I believe that it not only pays tribute to Corporal Cirillo, but also to Warrant Officer Patrice Vicent and to all who have given their lives in service to our country.

About faithfullyhis

My name is Charles Quail and I am a retired Baptist pastor who lives in Dunnville,a small town southeast of Hamilton, Ontario. I also write a weekly column for our local newspaper, The Sachem. It is a column that I have been writing for about eight years. I am married and have two grown daughters. My best buddy was my dog Max, who is now chasing bunny rabbits in sky. I miss him terribly. My reason for wanting to write a blog is friends have told me that this is the next logical step in my writing career. My hope and prayer is that many will be both challenged and blessed by what I write.
